A COMPLETE LINE-UP OF GST ISOFORMS
Oxford Biomedical continues to be the primary source for purified recombinant human GST A1-1, M1-1 and P1-1 isoforms. Until now, other members of this important enzyme family have not been commercially available.
Additional purified recombinant GST enzymes now in stock:
• GST A3-3, which exhibits high steroid double-bond isomerase activity and is involved in testosterone, progesterone and estrogen biosyntheses.
• GST T1-1, which conjugates glutathione to many small molecules including haloalkanes and epoxides. Approximately 10-20% of humans do not express this isoform.
Purified recombinant GST enzymes now in production and available soon:
• GST A2-2, the most active enzyme in the activation of the prodrug azathioprine. It is also involved in PGD2 and PGF2a synthesis in specific tissues.
• GST A4-4, which exhibits the greatest activity with 4-hydroxynonenal and other alkenes produced by lipid peroxidation due to oxidative stress. The expression and function of this isoform is important in neurodegenerative diseases.
• GST M2-2, which has the greatest activity for o-quinones produced from catecholamines, and may play an important role in protecting against Parkinson’s disease.
Many isoforms also have antibodies available to compliment your GST studies. Click your isoform of interest below to see all associated products.
